About University of Rajasthan (UOR)

The University of Rajasthan is the oldest institution of higher learning in Rajasthan. It was established on 8th January, 1947, as the University of Rajputana with the main objective of disseminating knowledge and catering to the needs of the students of Rajasthan. It had jurisdiction over the entire state. In the year 1956, the Rajputana University was renamed as the University of Rajasthan, keeping intact its enveloping jurisdiction. With the successive creation of other universities, its affiliating jurisdiction has come down, but it is still the hub of Higher Education in Rajasthan paving the way for the other universities. It attracts students from all over Rajasthan and other parts of India and abroad. University of Rajasthan is a multi-faculty University and is recognized under 2f and 12B of U.G.C since its inception. It has 36 Post Graduate Departments, 15 recognized Research Centers ,6 Constituent Colleges and 500 Affiliated Colleges spanning 6 districts. The location of the University is Urban and its Central Campus is spread over 285.50 acres and the satellite campus, comprising the Constituent Colleges, is spread over 149.53 acres.

University of Rajasthan Admission 2019

The University of Rajasthan offers a number of courses at the Undergraduate level in Honors and Pass modes. The university also offers integrated courses to the applicants. The minimum eligibility to apply in the Undergraduate courses is 12th (10+2) from a recognized board with the minimum marks required. However, for BPE, B.Lib & Inf Sc. courses and integrated courses in M.Tech, a student with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree can also apply.

Selection in LL.B and 5-year integrated BA LL.B is done on the basis of performance in ULET and RULET organized by the University of Rajasthan. Admission to BPA is based on an Aptitude Test organized by the university. Admission to the rest of the courses is based on the merit of the qualifying examination.

The University of Rajasthan offers MA, M.Sc, M.Com, LL.M, M.Ed, M.P.Ed & M.Li.Sc courses at Postgraduate level for the duration of two years. The basic eligibility is a pass in the relevant Bachelor’s degree. Admission is granted on the basis of score in University of Rajasthan Admission Test for PG Courses (URATPG 2019) and marks in the qualifying degree. Final selection is subject to a minimum of 70% marks in the entrance with 30% weight to marks in the qualifying degree. Application Form for all the courses offered by Rajasthan University can be filled online in the month of June.

URATPG Pattern: The test will consist of 70 MCQs of one marks each for the duration of 75 minutes. Out of 70 questions, 60 will be asked from the concerned subject while 10 will be related to General English, Mental Ability & GK.
